time for a change

It's interesting that time passes so quickly while thoughts filter in and are just as quickly forgotten. I've been wanting to take better care of myself, exercise more, get rid of the clutter in my life, and have I? Not yet. Why? Time. Is that really a good excuse or reason? No.

So what's a girl to do? I started taking vitamins today and took the cover off of the treadmill. Perhaps exercising my body will help exercise my mind. Perhaps.

I used to be able to eat anything I wanted and stay that svelt trim gal. Those days are apparently gone, as I've noticed my clothes not fitting as well and my shape is becoming something from a Michelangelo portrait. Classic beauty, maybe, but on me? I don't want to buy bigger sized clothes, and I prefer love handles on men. Ha.

fridays are the best

After several weeks of chaos and marked stress, I am soooooo looking forward to actually sleeping in on Saturday morning. The phone will be taken off of the hook in an attempt to ensure tranquility for a good morning's sleep. We'll see if the plan works.

Yet another meeting on a Friday afternoon. How many meetings are simply meetings to discuss having more meetings? Do meetings ever produce consensus or encourage communication? Businesses amaze me - how *do* they make money when only a few are aware of what's going on? Another one of my queries thrown to the wind, ne'er to return.

Clockwatching has never been one of my strong points or idiosyncracies, but I seem to be spending a considerable amount of time doing just that today. Off to review agendas, I can only hope the weather (and tempers) calm down.

where does the time go?

My glorious week-long vacation laden with well-meant intentions has frittered away.  A small sampling of my "to-do" list has been conquered, yet more entries have appeared on the list.  Alas!

But hey, the garbage men will be happy to see that I've been "busy" again trying to reduce ~some~ of the clutter in my life.  I joined a "free-cycle" list several months ago in hopes of getting rid of those items that were just too good to throw away... Partially because the local charity doesn't do pickups any more and partially because it drives me BUGGY (don't ask me why - my neighbor tells me repeatedly to look at it like "at least it's not going to the landfill") to see people rummage through my roadside trash...  But the free-cycle thing has been a total turn-off as well.  After giving several things away - not *one* person said "thank you" - but the list now has more "wanted" postings than offerings.  Recently there have been posts _wanting_ such items as "a trailer for my pontoon boat" and "a good running car or truck, preferrably a later model" and "a big screen tv" and other such malarkey.  Get out of here!  One post that I did enjoy thoroughly, while rolling on the floor, was a post by a female, wanting "a good man with a good job."  Ha!!  Don't we all?!?!  She mentioned it was a joke, just because so many others appeared to be asking for the world on a plate, but I thought it was hilarious.

Hmmph.  As you can see, it doesn't take much to humor me, eh?  '-)  I live by several idioms, one of which is, "You can't get what you don't reach for."  Don't know who said it, but it certainly fits.  :)  Let's reach high, shall we?  We shall!

no promises

Another item knocked off of that "honey do" list (honey=totalpkg=me) I torture myself with. Years ago, I kept a journal. Things that seemed disastrous at the time later seemed almost comedic in review. I'd like to procure some of that old-time knowledge and hardy self-depreciative laughter yet again. Care to join me?

I can't make promises on how often I'll write, but like a good caffeine fix, I have every confidence scribing notes to a fictitious diary will soon become quite addictive. I'll be writing for myself, of course, but perhaps if I'm reminded then and again that this is a _public_ forum, perhaps I'll will my razor sharp tongue to be more tolerant of those breathing loathsome irritants.. Perhaps. :)
